CNI Administration Services Contract

CNI Administration Services, LLC, was awarded a three-year Contract to provide professional scientific and engineering services by the Office of Environment, Safety and Health (EH) of the US Department of Energy (DOE).

The award of this Contract was the culmination of more than six months of painstaking negotiations between CNI and EH.

The Contract with EH is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type of contract which means that CNI can be issued a specific assignment from a broad range of tasks in order to support and assist EH in achieving its goals and objectives regarding environment, safety and health issues throughout the DOE complex of facilities and installations. The work that CNI is to perform includes establishment of an engineering design team focused on ensuring that safety is part of DOE project design considerations. This effort will involve identification and recommendations for elimination of nuclear, chemical, biological and industrial hazards.

In carrying out this Contract, CNI will be supported by its subcontractor EG&G, Inc. a division of the URS Corporation. With 13,000 employees, EG&G is a leading provider of technical and management services to the U.S. Government. It is notable that both the origin of EH and the relationship between EG&G and DOE can be traced to the Manhattan Project to develop the atomic bomb during World War II. EG&G is currently assisting CNI on another DOE IDIQ contract to provide professional services related to implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), particularly in Indian Country.
